Chatuchak Weekend Market
This is “THE” ultimate Bangkok market. It is the mother of all markets, and a real MUST when visiting Bangkok! Chatuchak is probably the biggest outdoor market in the world, consisting of a whopping 15,000 stalls selling just about anything you can imagine from every corner of Thailand! Here, you can expect to find wood carvings, clay handicrafts, local souvenirs from every part of Thailand, Buddhist amulets, wooden furniture, handmade decorated flowers, ceramic wares, Chinese wares, garden plants, stones, trendy fashions, silk, hill-tribe outfits, paintings of local painters, fluffy dogs, handbags, shoes, jewellery and fashionable Thai design of all sort – All at a cheap price! It is spectacular!
Sukhumvit Street Market
This traditional night market in Sukhumvit Street sells a variety of items, from clothes to shoes, all of which are cheap. Please put in mind that the prices offered by the seller are negotiable, meaning that by all means to mark down the price two or three times cheaper of the tag price.
Khao San Road
One of the streets in Bangkok has long been very well known, especially for backpackers. If you want to hunt food, Khao San Road is also the right place to go. Various kinds of typical Bangkok snacks are sold here. But those Muslim travellers, make sure you ask the seller whether or not the food is halal.
Pratunam Market
This is one of the all-around markets in Bangkok. This market is located at the crossroads between Ratchaprop and Petchburi roads. In this market, you will find various accessories, bags, clothes, pants, bikinis, and shoes that are sold with a variety of motifs and colours. If you are looking for unusual items to add to your collection, there are also shops which sell clothes or costumes with strange models.
Chinatown
Chinatown is one of the food paradise and the favourite local market in Bangkok. For those who want to try some culinary treat, the area along the Yaowarat road is a must-visit. Restaurants on both right and left sides of Chinatown sell a variety of delicious Chinese specialities. Some sellers sell clothes, knick-knacks, and many other items.
